Skyvia : Demystifying Data Integration

Since the turn of the century, advancements in technologies and their applications in business settings has helped businesses transform the way they operate and engage with customers. In light of this, businesses across all sectors started deploying emerging tech-driven solutions to keep up with their competition and cope with the ever-evolving market trends. However, with this increase in technology deployments came a rise in complexity because most solutions built by different developers cannot seamlessly share critical data. This problem became even more pronounced with the increased adoption of cloud-based solutions to store and share files internally and with clients. As a result, only firms that have the resources and technical skills to integrate the data across multiple cloud-based/on-prem data sources can make the most of their cloud-based IT infrastructure. So how can an organisation without the resources or expensive IT consultation seamlessly manage their cloud-based assets and move their data across other ecosystems with ease?

Czech Republic-based Skyvia has the answer. The company provides its universal, no-coding wizard-based cloud data platform that simplifies data integration, cloud to cloud backup, and other processes for businesses of all sizes. The Skyvia platform is powered by Devart company—a widely recognised vendor of database connectivity solutions in the Czech Republic—and supports popular cloud apps and on-prem data sources, including Salesforce, Dynamics CRM, Quickbooks Online, SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, and many more. “The idea behind Skyvia is to simplify the integration configuration and simultaneously perform all the data integration repetitive tasks, enabling clients to save more time for more important and less mundane things, says Alex Hyrniy, product manager at Skyvia.

The Skyvia platform comprises of data integration packages including import, export, synchronization, and replication. Import packages load data between different data sources in one direction and provide powerful transformation features while export is for exporting data to CSV files.

To create an import package, all users have to do is specify the source and target connections, and add at least one task. Import packages also offer a number of useful options: filters allow clients to only load records that match certain conditions, which can be can be combined with multiple other filters into logical groups. The platform supports all DML operations such as insert, update, delete, or even upsert for updating existing records and inserting new ones without the need for duplication. Skyvia also offers powerful mapping and transformation options, which are mapped automatically based on a user’s needs, thereby saving time and efforts. Concurrently, synchronization packages sync data in both directions and replication allows users to easily create a copy of their cloud data in a database and keep it up-to-date automatically.

With such unmatched capabilities, Skyvia has ignited several success stories since its inception. In one instance, the company assisted employee wellness solution vendor, Gointegro in automating their client reporting. Initially, as all product data of GOintegro was stored in MySQL database while Salesforce CRM was used for client management and communication, the customer was facing integration challenges. And due to their business specifics, GOintegro needed to provide their clients with daily, weekly, and monthly reports, which was slowly becoming a cumbersome challenge that was draining operational OPEX and resources. The second challenge was related to the internal needs of the company. GOintegro wanted to enrich clients’ data in Salesforce CRM with data stored in MySQL database to get a more complete customer profile. With Skyvia, the client managed to quickly set up data loading from MySQL to Google Drive on a regular basis to automatically share reports with their clients. They also integrated MySQL database with Salesforce CRM to improve the internal processes. After configuring Skyvia integration, Gointegro was able to automate the generation of KPI reports, save operating costs, reduce the margin of error, and improve the information delivery time. “Thanks to Skyvia we have made integrations, updating clients' data from mysql to salesforce and further exporting these data from mysql to google drive," stated Pablo Lopez, VP of digital transformation at GOintegro.

Looking ahead, Skyvia plans to expand the feature-set of its platform to help additional clients with their data integration challenges and unlock new levels of data-drive decision-making and operations. And with the COVID-19 pandemic pushing the entire business landscape into a digital era, Skyvia is perfectly poised to grow their clientele and global footprint by offering its comprehensive capabilities to help businesses seamlessly integrate their data in a timely and cost-efficient manner.
